Complete Guide to GPA in Nepal
Understanding Grading Systems
Different levels of education in Nepal use slightly different grading scales. Our calculator supports the most common ones:
- Bachelors/Masters (University Level): Standard 4.0 scale used by TU, PU, KU, and others. Uses A, A-, B+, etc.
- +2 (NEB Class 11/12): The National Examination Board grading system. Uses A+, A, B+, B, etc.
- SEE (Class 10): The secondary education examination grading system.
GPA Calculation Formula
GPA = (Total Grade Points) / (Total Credit Hours)
Where Grade Points = Point Value × Credit Hour.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good GPA for Masters in Nepal?
Generally, a GPA above 3.0 is considered good, and anything above 3.5 is excellent. Distinction is usually awarded for 3.7 or higher.
Do I enter Credit Hours or Full Marks?
You should enter Credit Hours. For most university courses, a subject is typically 3 or 4 credits. If your institution uses only marks, check your syllabus for the credit equivalence.
