About Me
Ekaterina holds a PhD in Economics from St. Petersburg State University, one of the leading research universities in Eastern Europe. Her academic career has been closely connected with international and English-taught education. She has taught at the Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University, the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences (in partnership with the University of Manchester), and several other institutions, delivering courses in microeconomics, managerial economics, public policy, competition policy, and urban and sustainable development.
Over the years, Ekaterina has designed and taught more than 20 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral-level courses, many of them in English. Her teaching portfolio includes Managerial Economics, Policy Analysis, Sustainable Territory Development, Urban Utilities Management, Research Methods, and Analytical Skills, as well as doctoral-level courses in Applied Economics and Market Analysis. She is particularly known for her practical, evidence-based teaching style that connects theory with real-world cases from European and global cities.
In addition to teaching, Ekaterina has held several senior academic leadership roles. She served as Academic Director of two international Master’s programs — Urban Management and Development and Smart City Management — where she was responsible for curriculum design, faculty recruitment, student admissions, and international partnerships. In these roles, she worked closely with prospective students and their families, advising them on program selection, career paths, and international study opportunities.
Ekaterina is also an active researcher in the fields of urban development, transportation systems, migration, and gender studies. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed international and national journals and regularly presents her work at international academic conferences in Europe and Asia. Her research focuses on how cities can become more sustainable, inclusive, and attractive for skilled migrants and young professionals.
With strong experience in online teaching and digital education platforms (Blackboard, Moodle, MS Teams, Google Meet), Ekaterina is well prepared to support students in remote and hybrid learning environments. She combines academic rigor with a student-centered consulting approach, helping learners choose the right study programs, understand university systems, and build successful international academic careers.
Today, Ekaterina works with international students and institutions as an education consultant and academic mentor, supporting young people who aim to study in Europe and develop their professional future through high-quality higher education.
